Laura Dunn: College Ready Week 2

As I previously stated, my actual practicum doesn't officially kick off for the next few weeks, but I'm trying to get as involved as possible leading up to my start date.  I've had regular communication with both the program director as well as the graduate assistant who is helping with the program.  This past week I was able to stop by their table at orientation to talk with a few parents and students as well as speak with the director and GA.

The program is coming together wonderfully and the numbers are growing as each orientation comes and goes.  I did learn that during the month of June, besides the program going on, we've decided to plan next year's college ready program during July too, giving me more duties to accomplish in July, something I'm very excited about.

I had a very productive sit down meeting with my supervisor to go over many of the expectations through the program and to discuss my learning contract.  She was very receptive to everything we discussed and I am very much looking forward to working is such close proximity with such wonderful people.  The College Ready staff seems to have their act together and I can not wait to jump in head first in July!
