So, I’ve got a few more days left in Starkville. I have still be familiarizing myself with the different things that The Student Recruitment & High School Services Office does at Utah. Over the last week I’ve been talking with my supervisor trying to get a rough schedule put together of what I am going to do for the three and half weeks I will be there. I was glad to find out this week that there is also another graduate student from The University of Utah that will also be doing an internship in July along with me. I’m hoping they will be able to help me out with getting to know the culture and “ways” of Utah. There is also a new admissions counselor who will begin in July. It will be nice not to be the only “new guy” and there will be a few of us who are learning at the same time. I could possible be the only one new to the University of Utah but hopefully I will be able to learn quickly from the others. I also found out that I am going to be living with someone who works with orientation who will also be able to help me around campus and Salt Lake City.
I am really looking forward to leaving and getting started. It will be a interesting first few days but hopefully I will fall into a groove on campus and begin to learn the ways Utah recruits their students and further develop me professionally.
