Overall the retreat was a success. I gained so much from this process of planning and implementing. On Sunday we returned back to Columbus. I really look forward to returning to the "W" this week to finish up my hours. Looking back on this experience, I do not think I could have asked for a better practicum location. I had the opportunity to take par in some campus-wide events and to plan a weekend retreat, while being able to advise and mentor students. This next week I will be completing a guide for individuals who come after my site supervisor. This guide will tell them how to plan and execute a successful retreat. Wish me LUCK!!

Reggie,
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to squeeze in some "retail therapy" along with the students. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your practicum site. I recognize that you faced some challenges, and having overcome those, has brought you to a completely different place as a practitioner. I'm glad the retreat was a success. Congratulations for all of your efforts. Finish strong, I look forward to hearing all about it!
Best,
Dr. H
Reggie,
ReplyDeleteSomething that stands out to me from your practicum is you have actually been able to plan an event/project and complete the entire process. That is something I wish was able to be a part of but obviously with recruitment it is a much more drawn out process. With only 100 hour practicum, I feel like it can be hard to get that sense of completion with something you have been working on over just a few weeks.
