Reflection

This experience has been priceless and leaves me at a loss for words (in a good way of course) because I value this experience and the connections I have made so much.  Jackie (my supervisor) and I have discussed multiple avenues in which the CSA can revamp the way they advertize and increase publicity for their events and she has been great at giving me experiences that I want to gain.  I will be creating study kits for all of the 72 registered participants at the last event August 1st.
Jackie and I have also discussed the importance of a strong (positive) relationship that Student Affairs (SA) and Academic Affairs (AA)must have to truly be successful.  As an extension to the class discussion from last week, and in my experience with both Dr. B (AA) and Jackie (SA) as chairs of this committee I have seen that transparency and commitment to student success are together number one on their lists.  This experience has helped me to understand the importance of getting students connected more than ever.

Through this experience I realized that there are a lot of offices here who strive to have a helping hand in orientating the incoming students during their first few weeks here at MSU.  First year students is something that I have been passionate about for quite some time, and working with them as a professional is something I am driven to do!

I love my experience and hope that everyone else loves there so much that it leaves you at a loss of words to describe it.

Thanks!

  1. Kimone, I can tell that you have had many great learning experiences from your Practicum experience. Through your experience you've had the opportunity to work with both students and professionals, and I know this will be beneficial to you in the future. Keep up the hard work!
