Reflection:
Hi, everyone!  I have had an extremely eventful week at the "W".  This week was the second week of orientation for the summer, but it was my first week... It went by so quickly!  I started off the week by shopping for orientation snacks and supplies with my supervisor.  How many Wal-Mart carts did it take?  Four.  I can't even begin to imagine how many carts it would take to get snacks and supplies for a bigger university.
After returning from our shopping trip, I was asked to test out some of the craft supplies that we bought for the orientation leader team building activity.  Lucky for me, Brooke was there to help with all of the fun!

Thanks, Brooke!

Our hard work paid off, and the next day the orientation leaders got to make their own "superhero" orientation leader capes.  It was a fun/messy/rewarding experience to lead, and I will never forget the meaningful conversations that the orientation leaders and I had during our creativity!

The afternoon after our fun making the capes, I was able to give the orientation leaders a little motivational speech.  Jess, my supervisor, asked me to do this at the beginning of the summer, and I have been looking forward to it ever since!  Ultimately, the main goal of my presentation was for them to take away the important fact to always give everything 100%, and to always go that "Extra Mile"!  This is a picture of the treat the orientation leaders received after having to suffer through my speech:

EXTRA gum to help go the "Extra Mile"!
Friday was the first day I actually got to experience orientation, and I enjoyed every minute of it!  It was extremely tiring, but I truly loved getting to see the excitement on the faces of the incoming students, and I couldn't help but remember how excited I was when I was at my own orientation.  The "W" and MSU are so totally different, but I have come to love the "W" almost as much as I love State... almost!  I feel like I am learning so much, and I can't wait to learn even more during my final weeks!

Have a great week!!
