Banks-Week 1- LSU Residential Life

Activities:
Contacted my supervisor to inform her of my learning contract and expectations, continued to review the Residential Life website and familiarize myself with departmental information.

Reflection:
WOW! This has been such an overwhelming week. I have so many thoughts going through my head about what my life will be like in a month. I am excited, nervous, and ready to learn all at the same time. I have spent the last week really mulling over this new journey. This is so weird because it constantly reminds me that in 6 months I will be doing this for real. I still have so many decisions to make. It was pretty cool to work on my learning contract. This is the one chance we get to write our own job description. So hope that I, we, all take advantage of it. I am really excited about working with my supervisor, Maylen. She is so diverse with her experiences. I know that I am going to learn so much from her. One thing I want to get out of this experience is professional and self-growth. I am ready to be a "big girl!" I hope that I have many great memories to share with you all this summer. I have to admit that I am a little jealous that some of you are already diving deep into your practicum experiences. I will live vicariously through you all for the next few weeks! Some of you I will get to actually work with you through your practicum experiences and if I can be of any help, please let me know.

Forever,

Dejanae

  1. Dejanae,

WOW! Finding your practicum was a whirlwind, but you found what you were looking for and really made it happen. Congratulations. I believe you've also found a wonderful supervisor who is going to provide you with the skills and tools to help you become successful both now and well into the future. I also believe that leaving MSU will be a great asset to your learning experience and you are going to come back an even stronger bulldog (no tigers please).

    Best,
    Dr. H
