Reflection:
These past two weeks have been extremely eventful for the CSA. From College Ready move in to beauty pageants. All my hard work helping to develop programs and collaborating with others in order to do so has paid off in the form of implementation.
Trivia night went great and I was able to co-host with Walker Eaton, one of the new graduate assistants with the CSA. The trivia program was well organized and the only issues we seemed to have were the difficulties of some of the questions. If I was to go back, I would change some of the questions to better suit the incoming freshman students.
My favorite part about College Ready move in were the manuals that were created by Brittany Clark, a soon to be graduate assistant with the CSA. Brittany asked me some things that should be included in the manual from the Housing and Residence Life aspect and it was great to see her include the things that I listed. From food schedules to check-out guidelines, the manuals were well designed and created. The College Ready students have all the information they need in one medium rather than several different resources.
I worked on several smaller tasks throughout the two weeks, but I really learned a lot about contacting outside sources. I always hate to contact outside sources due to the difficulties I have faced in the past, but so far, contacting outside sources for the CSA has been extremely easy. I believe that that this is possible due to the positive and past relationships the CSA has had with these outside sources.
Jerry,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see move-in collaboration between Student Affairs departments. So often we hear about how different departments do not collaborate. I have personally witnessed it with Brittany and Kyle. I can only imagine how differently move-in must be from that perspective. It is truly a great opportunity to not only collaborate, but to observe and then make suggestions for improvements.
Sincerely,
Kate
